My company, Big Purpose Big Impact LLC, was built to help others do the same — to align their business success with lasting social good. Together, we help entrepreneurs and small and mid-size businesses turn generosity into strategy and purpose into prosperity.
As a small business owner, I know my greatest impact comes from focusing my time, talent, and treasure where they can make the most difference. For me, that’s supporting women and girls through education, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
Whether it’s mentoring through local accelerator programs, partnering with women-led nonprofits, or investing in initiatives that create opportunity, I believe empowered women empower communities in the US and around the world.
Where Purpose Meets Practice
What I Focus On
Behind Me
My belief in giving back comes from the idea that we’re all part of something bigger — a community that thrives when each of us does our part. I believe we all share a responsibility to be active citizens, not bystanders, using whatever influence or ability we have to make things better.
For me, that’s what stewardship means: taking responsibility and then stepping up to act. I’ve seen what happens when people and businesses do — lives change, communities strengthen, and hope grows. That’s why giving back isn’t a program or a promise for me; it’s how I choose to live and lead.
Why I Give Back
For me, community isn’t a marketing angle — it’s who I am. From my earliest days volunteering with the Girl Scouts and my church youth group to coaching business leaders here in Colorado, I’ve seen how generosity and growth are deeply connected. That belief is the heartbeat behind everything I do.
Over the years, I’ve learned that good intentions aren’t enough. There are plenty of “nice-to-dos,” but what truly matters is impactful action — work that measurably improves lives and strengthens communities. That’s the difference between charity and change, and it’s the principle that guides everything I teach and practice.

We support education for girls in developing countries as a way to break cycles of poverty.
About
Education Elevated was founded by Executive Director, Gerri Kier, after a trek she did in Nepal when she learned about the challenges faced by the Sherpa people. Many children in remote areas have to walk 1-3 hours ONE WAY to get to a school. Parents of girls will not allow them to walk those distances to school so most receive no formal education.
Every year, Education Elevated supports the running and maintenance of the school they helped build in Chyangba Village for boys and girls.
Annually, the annual fundraiser and silent auction raises funds for teacher salaries, school maintenance, student uniforms and supplies. Sponsorships of $600/each allows 24 girls are able to receive schooling, room and board, a uniform, and all school supplies.
Our Support
Sue has twice sponsored a girl to receive schooling. In addition, she served as Secretary on the Board for two years.

I believe we each have a role to play in building stronger, more equitable communities — and it starts with taking action where we are.
If you’re a business owner, consider how your time, talent, and resources could support a cause that reflects your values. If you’re an individual, find a local organization that inspires you and ask how you can help.
I’ve seen firsthand how collaboration multiplies impact. When we connect purpose with action, generosity becomes contagious — and communities thrive.
